you are interested in learning how to grow, condition and arrange
flowers from your garden then we can help. We are holding a series
of classes in the gorgeous Tithe Barn at Mells, Somerset with some
activities taking place in our exciting new premises in the adjoining
Walled Garden.
The classes are relaxed and fun, with a mixture of hands on techniques,
helpful tips and demonstrations by experienced tutors. These courses
are particularly suitable for beginners and those with more gardening
experience who would like to gain confidence with arranging flowers
from their own gardens.
Annuals for the Cutting Garden
Because they bloom so generously, annuals are ideal for the cutting
garden. On this course you will learn which varieties to choose
for long season cropping, sowing techniques and caring for your
young plants, staking and support tips and conditioning advice for
your flowers once cut. There will be the opportunity for some light
greenhouse activities and to see annuals growing in the Walled Garden.
You will also take home a selection of organic seeds suitable for
growing at home.
Seasonal Hand-tied Bouquet
Using seasonal, organic flowers freshly cut from our farm you will
create a beautiful, country style, hand tied bouquet to take home.
Using demonstration techniques your tutor will guide you through
assembling, tying and wrapping your bouquet in stylish, sustainable
packaging, ideal for giving as a gorgeous gift for friends or just
as a lovely treat for yourself.
Seasonal Vase
In this workshop you will learn how to create a relaxed, country
style vase arrangement using seasonal flowers from the garden. Your
tutor will guide you through choosing suitable vases, conditioning
plant material and using foliage and colour for different effects.

Whilst the dates & prices for the courses are correct at the time
of going to press we reserve the right to make alterations to dates,
times, course content & prices.
Bookings are made on a first come,
first served basis on receipt of full payment.
Amendments to bookings may be made
up to 28 days prior to the date of the class. If you find you are
unable to attend a class less than 28 days before the date of the
class you are welcome to send someone else in your place. We regret
that the course fees will only be refunded if we are able to fill
your place.
These rules apply equally to gift
voucher bookings.
If through unavoidable circumstances
we have to cancel a course, all course fees will be refunded in full
or if you wish, transferred to another course.
We will not refund any other costs
you may have incurred in advance.
